A Quick Pep Talk

Sometimes unwavering devotion doesn’t pay off.

Despite the routine hardship, our dreams appear to crumble before our eyes. We didn’t hit the intended goal in that timeframe. We missed the target by a couple of inches. Now we’ve hit rock bottom, and there’s no sign of a way out. Everything cascades into emptiness. It feels like there is no point in trying anymore…

…But it doesn’t mean that all our time and energy has been wasted.

Whatever the case may be for you, you haven’t failed that goal. There’s still time to become what you might’ve been.

Whenever I experience this feeling (and it’s occurred a lot recently), I reframe it as 1% progress closer to the bigger picture. That vision of my future is still in sight. Every failure and success is a step closer to the person I will become.

So, it doesn’t matter if today didn’t work out. That deadline was probably unrealistic anyway. There’s always time to figure it out. I believe that we can all achieve anything we set our sights on. We just need to give it more time.

I know, that’s a big demand to ask right now.

Even though bad days might weigh heavier than good days, what matters is how we choose to perceive each day that is gifted to us. There is also power in knowing we’re not the only ones experiencing shortcomings and setbacks.

Please reach out and vent your frustration among loyal company. You’ll be shocked to learn that this is a shared feeling by everyone. At the end of the day, we should all be here for each other.

Overall, I guess this is a gentle reminder to myself and to the one who’s reading this: you’re an exceptional human being and you’re doing the best you can with what life has given you. Be proud of where you’ve made it so far!

Despite things not working out the way you intended, it’s a transient feeling - eventually, things get better. Ultimately, that unwavering devotion will pay off. In fact, given enough patience, you will be shocked at the way things gradually work out in life.

They always do in the end.

This is a little motivational reminder to keep going when times are tough and efforts don’t seem to pay off. Save it for a rainy day!
